Invest in Pie

Pie Lab, the vision of 14 young Project M designers, is transforming from pop-up experimental pie shop to permanent downtown eatery in Greensboro, Alabama. This expansion will elevate our level of engagement among the residents of Greensboro and the surrounding area of Hale County. The new space will be equipped with a full service kitchen, as well as classroom space which will be used to train local youth.

Spread the Bird

Yellow Bird Project utilizes the talents of indie rock musicians by collaborating to create unique t-shirt designs that benefit an array of charities chosen by the musicians.

And now Yellow Bird has expanded this collaboration to create The Indie Rock Coloring Book. Music fans can keep themselves out of trouble for hours with mazes, connect-the-dot games, and coloring pages for the Shins, Devendra Banhart, Rilo Kiley, the National, and more than 20 artists. With all royalties going to charity, it is sure to warm even the coolest of hipster hearts. 

Yellow Bird Project has been featured in USA Today, Spin, NME, and many other venues. Andy J. Miller is a UK-based illustrator who has worked with Nike and Sony and has exhibited in London.

 

Sweet Relief

Coming from a musical family with one retired drummer and several aspiring singer-songwriters, it is no secret that I have a soft spot for musicians. I recently learned of a charitable organization called Sweet Relief, founded in 1994 by singer/songwriter Victoria Williams.  What a fantastic idea. The organization strives to provide financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet due to illness, disability, or age-related problems.

Stash Couture launches today

At long last, our website for Stash Couture has launched. We decided to branch off of Stash Studios and launch a separate site and brand for the accessories (and future clothing lines). Our bags have been around for a while but until now, they've only been available by word-of-mouth.

Located in the Houston area, we ship globally to qualified buyers. All bags are created in our studio which sometimes gets a little warm (this is Texas, afterall) but is NOT a sweatshop of any sort. Each bag is custom-crafted and hand-riveted by me and will never be duplicated because of the variation in hides. All pelts are new highest quality Brazilian, the same pelts used in modern upholstery and decor.  

As I grow my business, I daily try to figure out ways to give back. We were recently inspired by the guy who started Tom's Shoes. So we decided to collect 3.5% per retail sale to donate to Heifer International. This seemed the best way to complete the circle of what we are creating.  

Stash Couture is owned and operated by me, Cheryl Schulke. When I'm not in the studios designing bags and clothing (coming soon), you will probably find me behind the lens of a camera shooting for my freelance photography business or Refueled magazine. Save the Girls

We like the girls. Several women in our family have lost their girls long before there were saline and silicone girls. Statistically speaking, both Jr and I are at risk due to our family history. But beyond the girls, breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in women. So our plea to save the girls goes way beyond the superficial aspect.  

I know, the economy is down, but Stash Jr is raising money to Save the Girls. What is this? Well, that’s our personal spin on things. Bottom line, Stash Jr rides with SGF Winning Ways Farm in Tomball and their youth club is selling the bracelets pictured above. The money raised with each bracelet she sells will go directly to breast cancer research through the Susan B. Komen Foundation and M.D. Anderson of Houston.

Bracelets are $5 each and we will throw in shipping for FREE. 
If you would like to donate more, we would be happy to accept. 
The club will be collecting the money to donate next week at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show March 18 - 29th in Katy, Texas. If you are not set up to use paypal just email me and we can work out another option.
